A new season of PloktaTV

NEWS 15/02/2021 NEWS 15/02/2021

We interrupt this pandemic to bring you an important announcement

– PloktaTV is back with a brand new season

When the first lockdown hit, Plokta film festival was just about to hit Amsterdam’s cinemas. Instead, PloktaTV gathered isolated households around the warm glow of their small laptop screens. Now, well into this Covid-era of curation, Plokta returns as a streaming event for those exhausted by streaming. Linear TV for a generation that already killed off linear TV. Broadcasting for a post-broadcasting world.

From cathodes to pixels, channel-hopping to binge-watching, ratings to clicks – television has changed, and not only for the better. So we’re connecting a past era of network broadcasting with a future beyond this media-saturated present. The cord might have been cut on cable TV, but we’re still plugging in.

PloktaTV

Today’s TV comes from all directions at once, unscheduled and untimely. PloktaTV brings you one timetable, one channel. Today’s TV is algorithmically tailored to know you want, offering you unlimited, diversified content. It promises the world, but traps you in a filter bubble – self-fulfilling, self-repeating, stuck between two mirrors. PloktaTV doesn’t ask what you want to watch, it tells you.

Forget personalised. Forget on demand. PloktaTV SE/02 unveils the hidden life of technology, live on television. We are an organic, global meeting of your new favourite young artists, shoebox projects, and experiments. We gather the works and ideas of the brightest minds, and beam them to you, the viewer, directly. For one week, 24 hours a day, synchronously, worldwide.

Stay home. Watch TV. PloktaTV.
